The Good

BearShare worked well on 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro and used minimum CPU and RAM, remaining stable throughout most part of our tests.

Torrent files are supported for downloading. The utility creates a system tray icon at startup and gets sent there on close, thus facilitating quick access.

The Bad

The app is filled with adware, which will mostly likely kill the users' enthusiasm. It crashed a couple of times in our evaluation while we were playing around in the main frame.

It failed to find many songs when we used the search function, as well as to connect to Facebook when we attempted to share songs. The download rate was slower than we expected.

The Truth

Unfortunately, BearShare failed to meet our expectations in this revision. Users may resort to other, more reliable P2P clients for finding and downloading music and video, such as DC++ and FrostWire.
